Virat Kohli misses out on BIG RECORD

IND vs WI Live: Virat Kohli misses out on BIG RECORD – It all seemed to fall in place for Virat Kohli as he went hammering of West Indies bowlers from the word-go. While he brought up his 30th T20I half-century off 39 balls. However, he fell agonisingly short by just three runs of surpassing Martin Guptill for most runs in T20I career.

Virat Kohli currently has 3,296 runs in 97 matches while Martin Guptill has scored 3299 runs in 112 matches. India skipper Rohit Sharma is also chasing both the star batsmen with 3.256 runs in 121 matches.

However, Virat Kohli’s all hard work was undone by a brilliant delivery from Roston Chase. He managed to turn the delivery like ace Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and completely beat Kohli as the ball cleaned up his stumps. Virat Kohli was left stunned with the turn Rostin Chase managed.

“For me, it’s always been an opportunity to bat well under different situations for the team. Today when I went in I decided to be positive then we lost a few wickets. I wanted to continue in the same way, probably disappointed to get out at the time I did because I set up the game nicely for me to go hard in the last 4-5 overs which is the way I bat, which is my strength. I was happy that I went out with clear intent today, not think so much about whether I should try my shots or not and it came off,” Virat Kohli said at the innings break.

“It’s a nice way to start that innings for myself. When you play with responsibility over a long period of time, you tend to go into a mindset where you start thinking too much about whether you can take a risk or not and I think sometimes, you tend to forget why you got to the stage you got to and it’s important to back your instincts,” he added.
