Prannoy Sanju Samson Meeting: India’s shuttler HS Prannoy, who is making a rapid rise in his rankings in Badminton, recently tried his hand at cricket. Prannoy met cricketer Sanju Samson in one of his recent practice sessions and was seen bowling to him in the nets. Both Samson and Prannoy hail from Kerala. An elated Prannoy, shared a photo with Sanju Samson on his social media handles and wrote “It’s not very often that you get a chance to bowl against one of the best batsman out there.” He also added few words in Malayalam in the post that roughly translates to “We know. Malayalees are super right?”

Prannoy has enjoyed a great season on the BWF Tour this year that made him enter into the Top 15 in the World rankings for the first time in the last four years. He is currently the third highest ranked Indian Men’s shuttler in singles after Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth.

Prannoy however is the World’s Number one player in the men’s singles category in the BWF World Tour Rankings. In the rankings updated on September 6, Prannoy emerged as the number one shuttler in tour rankings.

Prannoy was the runner-up in the Swiss Open 2022. He also made it to the semifinals at the Indonesia Open and Malaysia Masters this year. Much recently in August during the 2022 Japan Open, he lost in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson led India A to a 3-0 victory in the one-dayers against New Zealand A much recently. He was not named in India’s T20 World Cup squad recently and there was a lot of backlash from the fans following his exclusion. He is also not in the T20 squad for the ongoing South Africa series, but he is expected to be in the ODI squad and is set to be named vice-captain under Shikhar Dhawan.
